History is the study of past events, societies, cultures, and civilizations through recorded, oral, and material evidence. It seeks to understand the causes and consequences of historical developments and their impact on the present and future. Historians analyse various sources, including documents, artifacts, and testimonies, to construct narratives that explain how and why events occurred.

The U3A History group is small, friendly and very welcoming. All topics and subjects are decided, agreed and discussed by group members.

Group Venue, Frequency of Meeting and Time: 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month; St Anne's Community Centre, Terrace Road, Buxton; 10am-12 noon. All welcome in particular new members interested in joining our group.
