How do I join and how much does it cost?
At Buxton & District u3a, life is all about learning, laughing with our thriving community of over 450 members.
You can have two 'group taster' sessions before you join. Once you're a member, there are many benefits and you can join as many of our 50+ fantastic interest groups as you have time for! Just contact the Group leader through the relevant group page for any group you are interested in.
Membership Fees
Membership of the Buxton & District u3a for 2025 is £47 per year all-in cost* (1st April 2026 – 31st March 2027). The fee is reduced if you join as a new member later in the year - see the table below.

*Voluntary Contributions: You may be asked for a small voluntary donation toward refreshments or car-sharing costs. Materials: Please bring your own personal materials or equipment for your activities. Charabanc Outings: These day trips are "events" that incur separate costs for travel and venues. They are listed under "Groups" simply to make communication easier.
Renewals are on the 1st April every year for the full £47
You will be sent an email about a month before the renewal date with instructions on how to renew.
Membership of another u3a does not entitle you to attend any of our groups although you will be asked to pay a reduced fee for associate membership. Please get in touch with the membership secretary Tineke Bosma.

Joining Instructions
If you are ready to join us you can pay by cheque to the membership secretary or through online banking. The Membership Secretary's contact details and bank details are on the forms.
