Hi Everyone,

So popular has been the outing to Speke Hall, there soon became a waiting list so I have arranged a second date for another coach to go to Speke Hall.

This time it is Thursday 4th June, a place well worth visiting so do come

Charabanc Outing to National Trust Speke Hall near Liverpool

Thursday 4th June

Speke Hall is a beautiful black and white timber Tudor Hall the Norris family started to build in1532 on the banks of the river Mersey then surrounded by woods and pastures.

Like any hall during its 500 years of history, it has had its ups and downs.  it was saved by the Watt family and cherished and made into a comfy Arts and Craft home during the Victorian period. William Morris wallpaper still hangs there today and Whistler and Rossetti were frequent visitors. Discover on your self-guided tour of the house the priest’s hole and how to eavesdrop or find the fossils only about 430million years old in the Great Hall Floor!

The hall is surrounded by wooded areas, a Victorian kitchen garden, beautiful gardens and there is even a coastal walk by the river Mersey estuary.

The gate into the Mersey and Garston Coastal reserve will be open, a 70-acre wildlife area along besides the Mersey home to a variety of birdlife.

And of course, there is the NT restaurant and a tearoom.

Speke Hall has mobility Trampers and if you would like one, please ask me at the time of booking a place.

For the plane spotters Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport is just next door.

It’s an excellent day out so do come.
