Have you ever wanted to learn Latin? This new group is intended for complete beginners, with no previous knowledge of the language required.

Using the Cambridge Latin Course, we will learn to read and understand Latin, beginning with simple sentences and gradually progressing to longer stories. Along the way, we will explore everyday life in ancient Rome, Roman history and culture, and the influence of Latin on the English language.

The sessions will be friendly and informal, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions, practise what we have learned, and discuss the ancient world. Everyone will be able to progress at a comfortable pace.

The first session will be on Thursday 7 January 2027.
