How do I join a walk?

To join us, please contact the group leader.

Can I try a walk before officially joining?

Yes! You are welcome to attend up to 2 taster sessions across the various u3a groups before making a commitment.

When and where does the group meet?

We meet every Wednesday at 9:15 AM at the Poole’s Cavern car park.

How does transportation work?

We gather at 9:15 AM to arrange car shares. We look to travel no more than 30 minutes from the car park to the start of our walk.

What time does the group set off?

We leave the car park promptly at 9:30 AM, so please don't be late!

⚠️ Note: Walks are always weather permitting. If the weather is severe, the walk may be cancelled.

How far and how fast do you walk?

Our walks are typically 5 to 7 miles long. We walk at a comfortable pace and always pace ourselves by the slowest walker—no one gets left behind.

What gear and supplies do I need to bring?

To ensure you have a safe and comfortable walk, please bring:

• Sturdy walking shoes or boots
• Layered clothing (to adapt to changing temperatures)
• A waterproof jacket
• A packed lunch and a drink
• Any personal medication you may require

Can I bring my dog?

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed in this specific walking group as we often cross stiles and farm fields.
