A History of the History Group

I am taking this opportunity to thank all those who attended the History Group meeting today 7th November 2018. The meeting took as it's focus the celebration of the Armistice of 11.11.1918.

It was a wonderful and moving occasion with presentation's by individual group members on interesting aspects of WW1 including;

A History of the Cenotaph, Animals at War, Passage from Goodbye to all that (Probably), Letters from the Trenches, The Sherwood Foresters, (the end of the war), The Irish at War (Mons August 1914), WW1 and the contribution of the Jewish Groups, Advances in Medicine as a result of WW1, Women at War, and finally The War Poet's.

2020/21 During the Covid19 pandemic the History group used the Zoom project to both keep in touch and discuss topic's as arranged and agreed.

From October 2021 TO THE PRESENT 2024 we will meet at St Anne's Community Centre, Terrace Road, Buxton 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month 10am-12noon.
